|Hurricane Irene had a devastating impact on much of the region. Downtown Denville suffered extensive damage due to severe flooding, and many residences and businesses are struggling to rebuild and reopen. Volunteers in Denville have organized an event to aid in the process of recovery. From 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday (Oct. 16), “Denville: Up and Running” will feature a 5K Run/Walk as well as live music and other entertainment for the whole family. Activities include a 50/50 raffle, children’s games, Zumba, a farmers market, and a street fair with food and merchandise. Also, musician Kevin Jonas of the Jonas Brothers and his wife, Danielle Deleasa of Denville, will be on hand for a meet-and-greet. “Denville: Up and Running” takes place at the Denville Town Center. Registration/check-in begins at 9 a.m. and the race starts at 11 a.m. Race fee of $35 includes a T-shirt, awards and a gift bag.
